Goodwood is a working estate, with farming and forestry carrying on beside the contemporary sporting pursuits. The House is both traditional and modern, providing an elegant and glamorous backdrop to the many social activities and special occasions, from weddings and private parties, to business meetings and conferences. It houses a classic English art collection, with portraits by Van Dyck, Lely, Reynolds and Ramsay; fabulous and famous London scenes by Canaletto; and sporting pictures by George Stubbs, which were painted on the estate. The furniture is mostly French, as are the wonderful porcelain and tapestries.
