Petworth’s answer to the Edinburgh Festival, the witty and irreverent PetFringe 2016 is scheduled to run for its second year from the 1st-10th July, showcasing a myriad of local West Sussex talent and supporting local charities and businesses.

Hosting an eclectic mix of different artists from rock, folk, classical and jazz, to comedy and performance poetry, The PetFringe initiative complements the Arts Festival, established for many years, which now attracts the very best in musical talent from around the world.

The 2016 Fringe is going to be bigger, with two new events added and new separate staging venues. Petworth’s first ever two stage music festival will be held on the 2nd July  with a range of bands during the day including Willie Austen and Ben Pryer on the smaller, Rosemary Gardens, stage and four bigger bands at night on the main stage: the 11 piece Saviours of Soul leading to the Queen tribute act – We Will Rock You!

Other plans include at least one Fringe event on every night that week in the Acoustic Lounge at The Black Horse, Byworth, the Hampers Green Palladium, the Leconfield Hall and the first ever events to be held at the newly opened Welldiggers Arms.

Comedy includes the unusual act, ‘Boobs I Have Made’, a tribute to one of Britain’s most popular comedians and an award winning one-man show.

The Fringe finishes on the weekend of the 9th/10th July with an amazing food festival in Market Square.  Organised in conjunction with Fantastic British Food Festivals, there will be talks, tasting sessions. children’s events and a bake off competition.
