The Moncrieff-Bray Gallery is a spectacular 120 square metre converted barn and landscaped gardens with stunning views over the Rother Valley and South Downs. It opened in 2005 to hold regular exhibitions of contemporary painting and sculpture.
Prior to running the gallery Elspeth Moncrieff worked for several years as a curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum before becoming Deputy Editor first of the Antique Collector and then Apollo Magazine. From 1996-2004 she was the Art Market Correspondent for The Art Newspaper building up a wealth of experience about the art market.
In addition to the high quality exhibitions we stage, the gallery is a great day’s excursion located in the the heart of the South Downs National Park. There are stunning walks, unspoilt villages, excellent local pubs for lunch and many other art galleries and antique shops in close vicinity. Glorious Goodwood, The Goodwood Sculpture Park, Pallant House Art Gallery in Chichester, the historic houses, Cowdray, Petworth House, Parham House and the gardens of West Dean College are all close by. Petworth is jam packed with antique and decorating shops as well and Arundel with its castle, antique shops and galleries is twenty minutes away.
New this year at the gallery we are opening a small café, The Garden Tea Room. You can help yourself to light refreshments, tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits; we use an honesty box system. Find a peaceful bench and while away some time in our beautiful gardens amongst the sculpture.

Nigel Williams has been established in Petworth for over twelve years, specialising in items of antique silver.
Many silver items are of historical interest, illustrating changing lifestyles through the Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and later periods – as well as representing decorative silver design movements including the Aesthetic movement, Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau and Art Deco. On occasion there may be items of additional interest to collectors of, for example, Colonial, Scottish, Irish, Chinese and Russian silver.
Patch Rogers showroom is full of historical interior inspiration with accent pieces from the Arts & Crafts Movement, Art Nouveau, Art Deco through to design Present Day. Furniture, textiles, mirrors and lighting for the home by designers including William Morris, Archibald Knox, Heals and Liberty are beautifully presented at Gosdenheath Barn, near Petworth.
Patch Rogers also has a permanent concession on the fourth floor at Liberty, Regent Street, London. As well as showcasing key pieces from the Arts & Crafts Movement, Patch also organises the Liberty Annual Arts & Crafts Selling Exhibition, which runs from mid-May through to mid-June.
