24 SEPTEMBER - 27 NOVEMBER
Primarily works of art in their own right, 'Capability' Brown's landscapes were frequently depicted by painters, never more so than at Petworth, described by John Constable as 'that house of art'. A small group of paintings by JMW Turner and others, including loans and previously un-exhibited views, are shown alongside a newly commissioned film charting the development of the Petworth landscape featuring archival documents relating to one of Brown's earliest and most celebrated projects.
This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue.
