28 OCTOBER (over night)
7.00pm - 8.00am
Children will be able to sleep beneath the stars at a Tim Peake themed sleepover this half term. The Novium Museum in Chichester is hosting the sleepover on Saturday 28 October from 7pm until 8am, to coincide with the nationwide Museums at Night festival.
The Museums at Night festival invites all museums, galleries and heritage sites to open their door after hours twice year and showcase their treasures in unexpected ways.
The Tim Peake sleepover will give children the chance to take part in a torch lit treasure hunt, build their own rockets and enjoy a themed bedtime story before settling down for the night.
The sleepover is suitable for children aged 7-11, who must be accompanied by an adult. It costs £25 per person and can be booked by calling 01243 775888 or online through Chichester Box Office www.thenovium.org/spacesleepover
“This is a great opportunity for children to enjoy a sleepover in the museum, while learning about Tim Peake’s amazing mission”, says Councillor Eileen Lintill, Cabinet Member for Community Services at Chichester District Council.
“We are proud to be supporting Museums at Night, which gives children the opportunity to learn about history in a unique and exciting way. As a museum we regularly organise special sleepovers because we know how much children enjoy them.
“Our Tim Peake exhibition has already attracted over 45,000 visitors and so we are sure that there will be many aspiring astronauts out there who would love to join us at this special event.”
