4 - 5 OCTOBER
9.15am - 4.00pm
This exciting two day course gives beginners and those with some experience a dynamic and interactive introduction to using oil paint.
A highly experienced tutor, Jenny Tyson will guide you through the initial drawing process using paint and explain the subtleties of tone, colour and pattern. The changing season will be reflected in the still-life content, looking at autumn light and colour. From an understanding of basic principles including; how to edit material to form a composition, combining observation and imagination and simple colour theory – Jenny will encourage you to develop your own style into two completed paintings. Along the way she will free up your inhibitions, giving you the confidence to experiment. This is a fun, informal, interactive course with lots of individual tuition for those who are longing to give painting a go.
Originally from Scotland, Jenny studied at Signora Simi’s studio in Florence, the Byam Shaw and the Central School of Art. She is a hugely experienced tutor in great demand having run painting courses at both West Dean College and Pallant House Gallery over the last 15 years. Now retired from West Dean we are very lucky to have lured her to the gallery to teach. www.jennytysonpaintings.co.uk
