SUMMARY:From The Real: Liliane Tomasko and Sean Scully at Newlands House Gallery
DESCRIPTION:24 JULY – 10 OCTOBER 2021 \nFrom The Real: Liliane Tomasko and Sean Scully is an exhibition of two shows in one. Presenting husband and wife side by side\, audiences will have the opportunity to see the work through the eyes of the other\, comparing and contrasting the practices of these two art world heavyweights. \nBoth dealing with the idea of Abstraction\, each has developed a unique language and voice in their art. Where Scully draws on his personal biography to inform his art\, Tomasko focuses on the universal experience of the domestic\, both presenting an emotional journey of light and pigment. Tomasko and Scully met in London and were married in 2007 and\, in 2009\, saw the birth of their son\, Oisin. As well as sharing a home\, they have studios side by side in New York\, Munich and Berlin. \nhttps://www.tickettailor.com/events/newlandshousegallery/533773#

SUMMARY:Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf (Documentary)
DESCRIPTION:9 SEPTEMBER 2021 \n7.30pm – 9.30pm \nIn partnership with Petworth Gardeners Club\, Petworth Film House presents: Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf. An immersive documentary that reveals how revolutionary landscape designer\, Piet Oudolf\, upends our conventional notions of nature\, public space\, and\, ultimately\, beauty itself.\n“For me\, garden design isn’t just about plants\, it is about emotion\, atmosphere\, a sense of contemplation. You try to move people with what you do. You look at this\, and it goes deeper than what you see. It reminds you of something in the genes — nature\, or the longing for nature.” – Piet Oudolf\nDirector Thomas Piper filmed the garden designer Piet Oudolf over five seasons as he designed gardens from New York’s High Line and Hauser and Wirth’s prairie garden in Somerset\, England to his own private garden at Hummelo in Holland. \nRunning time: 1hr 15mins \nCertificate: U \nDoors: 7pm \nFilm: 7.30pm
