Developed by Hayward Gallery Touring\, the exhibition explores Rego’s lifelong engagement with storytelling and literature through the medium of printmaking. \nOne of the great printmakers and storytellers of our time\, Paula Rego drew inspiration from a vast range of sources – from traditional folklore and fairy tales\, to literary classics and nursery rhymes. \nPaula Rego: Visions of English Literature will present three of the artist’s most ambitious and profound series of works in printmaking: Nursery Rhymes\, Peter Pan and Jane Eyre\, made across a decade of the artist’s life. Each series will be accompanied by a variety of personal items from the artist\, many of which have never been publicly displayed before. DESCRIPTION:Every Wednesday\n\n7.45pm – 9.45pm\nJoin our choir! \nWe are a thriving mixed-voice choir of 100 members\, and whilst we do not audition members\, we are not short on ambition.  Through the expert guidance of our Musical Director\, Graham Wili\, we consistently achieve very high standards\, balanced with the sheer enjoyment of singing together and socialising with our favourite people!   Apart from performing in our Autumn\, Christmas and early Summer concerts\, we also embark on a hugely popular annual foreign tour in mid-July\, and have enjoyed singing in some of the most beautiful cathedrals and churches in Europe. \nWhilst we welcome experienced singers\, it doesn’t matter if you haven’t sung since your schooldays or can’t read music.  We pride ourselves on being a very friendly choir\, and if you want to sing and are willing to commit to attending rehearsals regularly\, you will be very welcome. \nWhere – The Herbert Shiner\, Petworth.

DESCRIPTION:25 JUNE 2026 \n7.45pm – 10.00pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\nVibrant world music from the UK and Mozambique \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKate Griffin first came to Petworth Sessions last November with her band Mishra and Deepa Shakthi\, which was one of the best nights we’ve ever put on. At the time\, we promised we’d bring her back\, and this is Phase 1 of our plan to do so. \nFor this project\, Kate (on banjo) and Matchume Zango (Mozambique multi-instrumentalist) bring their wonderful cross-cultural collaboration that celebrates the universal power of traditional music. Both weave echoes of their respective traditions to their vibrant sound full of world rhythms\, contemporary song-writing and joy. \nKate and Matchume are both experienced collaborators in their own right and the binding force of their collaboration is freedom to explore genres on their traditional instruments: for Kate the clawhammer banjo and Matchume the timbila. Matchume is a renowned international artist working in performance\, theatre\, dance and film\, and has recorded several albums with Timbila Muzimba\, MoSomeBigNoise\, Kubilai Khan and Forest Jam. With lineage from Zavala\, Inhambane Province\, the centre of Mozambique’s timbila tradition\, he is regarded as one of the new masters of timbila. \nThey will be joined on stage by Mishra bandmate Ford Collier on guitar\, whistle and percussion.
