DESCRIPTION:23 MARCH – 14 APRIL 2024 \n10.00am – 5.00pm \nOur Spring Festival will run from Saturday 23 March to 14 April and will include talks\, demonstrations\, a community art installation\, art and craft workshops\, and family activities. \nThe garden team have been busy planting 4000 additional bulbs across the garden and 90 new containers to create an enhanced display that will carpet the gardens with a sea of daffodils. \nOn Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March there will be a two-day Makers Market\, held in partnership with Petworth Pop-Up. \nA highlight of the festival will be a series of talks and demonstration from 23 – 29 March held at the Garden theatre in the Glade. Join experts and specialists including author Robyn Booth\, and Curator of Munstead Wood\, Caroline Ikin share tips on Spring gardening\, and discuss the ‘artist-gardener’ Gertrude Jekyll. Free talks\, no booking required. \nThroughout the festival from 23 March – 14 April families can pick up a free trail to explore the Pleasure Garden and discover 6 nature-inspired willow sculptures while enjoying fun games and activities along the way. \nFrom 3-10 April families can enjoy the Easter holidays with Spring themed crafts in the Battery House studio. SUMMARY:Buggy Walk at Petworth Park Sports Club
DESCRIPTION:Every Friday  \n10.00am – 11.00am \nEvent details: \n\n\n 	‘Buggy Walk’ is open to all parents/carers of babies & young children in prams\, buggies and carriers (plus older children are welcome to join the walk too!).\n 	Meet at the pavilion on Friday mornings at 9.45am for a 10am buggy friendly circular walk around Petworth Park beginning and ending at Petworth Park Sports pavilion (A buggy-friendly route is suggested which takes approx 45 mins to 1 hour).\n 	The activity is FREE for PPS members\, or join up for as little as £5 annual membership fee.\n 	Group will run all through school holidays and term time and is a great way to active in the fresh air and meet new people in a welcoming and friendly environment.\n 	No pre-booking required.\n\nThe group is a great way for baby to get fresh air within local surroundings\, whilst parents and carers have an opportunity for some gentle exercise and to meet others with similar aged children in a relaxed\, social environment.\nWe would recommend that participants wear comfortable footwear\, bring appropriate clothing for changeable weather\, plus a water bottle and that at least one of the group carry a fully charged mobile phone and map showing the route. There are toilets\, baby change facilities and a coffee bar at the PPS pavilion\, at the beginning and end of the walk. The pavilion is open from 9am to 12pm every Friday morning serving great coffee\, and a range of other hot and cold drinks and snacks. In the event of a Buggy Walk being cancelled due to bad weather\, the group may still enjoy a meet up in the pavilion and make use of the pavilion facilities. \nWalking can improve wellbeing and promote good mental health and hopefully the more relaxed parents are\, the more relaxed their baby will be too. During the walks the potential for new friendships are also being forged\, which is particularly beneficial for parents of similarly aged children to their own. Developing supportive social networks with one another can help them cope with the challenges of parenting. \nThe aim of Buggy Walk is to help parents and carers of new babies and young children to get more active\, enjoy some fresh air in a supportive and social environment\, feel fitter\, feel more energised\, reduce stress\, manage weight\, reduce isolation and have fun. The Buggy Walks are available to all\, regardless of fitness levels. \nPlease share with family and friends. No need to pre-book\, just turn up! New members can be signed up on the day.

DESCRIPTION:5 APRIL 2024 \n10.00am – 12.00pm \n\nOn this short walk from Langham Brewery I will be handing over the navigation reins to the children. However\, don’t get too alarmed\, I will be ensuring they don’t go too far off piste\, and we will still make it back to the brewery in time for lunch.\nBefore we set off we will be getting our bearings and talking a little about local geography and maps. Each child will then hopefully have the opportunity to lead a section of the walk\, with guidance. However\, everyone has a role to play on this walk as we’ll be creating maps from what we observe along the way. In today’s world\, where tech rules\, we have all lost our internal compass. This walk hopes to redress the balance a little by helping the children become more aware of their surroundings and direction. Along the way\, there will also be things to find and learn about the local area. Perhaps the adults will learn something too!

DESCRIPTION:Every Friday  \n10.00am – 11.00am \nEvent details: \n\n\n 	‘Buggy Walk’ is open to all parents/carers of babies & young children in prams\, buggies and carriers (plus older children are welcome to join the walk too!).\n 	Meet at the pavilion on Friday mornings at 9.45am for a 10am buggy friendly circular walk around Petworth Park beginning and ending at Petworth Park Sports pavilion (A buggy-friendly route is suggested which takes approx 45 mins to 1 hour).\n 	The activity is FREE for PPS members\, or join up for as little as £5 annual membership fee.\n 	Group will run all through school holidays and term time and is a great way to active in the fresh air and meet new people in a welcoming and friendly environment.\n 	No pre-booking required.\n\nThe group is a great way for baby to get fresh air within local surroundings\, whilst parents and carers have an opportunity for some gentle exercise and to meet others with similar aged children in a relaxed\, social environment.\nWe would recommend that participants wear comfortable footwear\, bring appropriate clothing for changeable weather\, plus a water bottle and that at least one of the group carry a fully charged mobile phone and map showing the route.
