In its spacious marquee\, the Petworth Park Antiques & Fine Art Fair has over 60 exhibitors\, predominantly members of The British Antique Dealers’ Association and LAPADA The Association of Art & Antiques Dealers. They offer for sale a wide range of desirable items such as fine period furniture\, clocks\, oil and watercolour paintings\, maps\, glass\, sculpture\, lighting\, vintage watches\, boxes\, silver and jewellery together with ceramics\, 20th century design objects\, drawings and prints\, textiles and carpets\, garden artefacts\, applied arts and many other decorative and unique works of art from the ancient to the contemporary. \nWe are very happy to again work with The National Trust at Petworth House as well as with the local dealer association PAADA and the Petworth Business Association\, creating yet another exciting event. The AA signs will direct traffic to this entrance and not to the main car park on the A283\, where there is a charge of £4 for non-National Trust members. Disabled parking close to the fair entrance. The pedestrian entrance is via the Cricket Lodge gate\, also on the A272\, or via the Cowyard. \nA courtesy shuttle bus service will operate between the fair car park\, the entrance to Petworth House and the town centre\, running hourly between 11 am and 6 pm (5pm on Sunday). \nFair visitors enjoy free access to Petworth House during the three day event. SUMMARY:Paula Rego: Visions of English Literature at Newlands House Gallery
DESCRIPTION:22 MAY – 6 SEPTEMBER 2026 \nWednesday to Saturday 10am – 5pm \nSunday 11am – 4pm \nPaula Rego: Visions of English Literature presents a major body of work by one of the most significant figurative artists of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Developed by Hayward Gallery Touring\, the exhibition explores Rego’s lifelong engagement with storytelling and literature through the medium of printmaking. \nOne of the great printmakers and storytellers of our time\, Paula Rego drew inspiration from a vast range of sources – from traditional folklore and fairy tales\, to literary classics and nursery rhymes. \nPaula Rego: Visions of English Literature will present three of the artist’s most ambitious and profound series of works in printmaking: Nursery Rhymes\, Peter Pan and Jane Eyre\, made across a decade of the artist’s life. Each series will be accompanied by a variety of personal items from the artist\, many of which have never been publicly displayed before. Unseen preparatory sketches\, etching plates and Rego’s very own childhood copy of Peter Pan will offer audiences an intimate portrayal of the artist’s lifelong fascination with literature and insight into how the artist transformed this material into startlingly original and unexpected pictures. \n\nBook Tickets: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/newlandshousegallery\n\nMore information via website: https://newlandshouse.gallery/exhibitions/paula-rego-visions-of-english-literature/
