SUMMARY:The Boy who bite Picasso - Arts Society West Sussex
DESCRIPTION:7 SEPTEMBER 2021 \n2.00pm – 3.00pm \nAs a child Antony Penrose first met Picasso when he visited the Penrose family home of Farley Farm\, in Chiddingly\, East Sussex in 1950. Antony’s parents were Roland Penrose\, the curator and biographer of Picasso\, and Lee Miller\, the photographer. Picasso painted her portrait six time and she photographed him more than 1\,000 times and her images illustrated Antony’s entertaining and amusing account of life around Picasso. \nWhilst Covid-19 restrictions are in force our Talks will be delivered via Zoom at our usual meeting time\, that is to say\, at 2:00pm on the 1st Tuesday of the Month. We will email all members with the link to join these Talks in the week before they are due to take place. Visitors are welcome to join these Talks for the normal visitors fee of £5 per Talk\, if you wish to join as a visitor please lets us know using the Contact Us form.

SUMMARY:Heritage Open Weekend - Petworth
DESCRIPTION:11 – 12 SEPTEMBER 2021 \n11.00am to 3.30pm. \nDiscover the unique local history of Petworth during the Heritage Weekend. Historic venues in and around the town will open their doors free of charge to celebrate their history. \nSites included are Petworth House & Park\, St Mary’s Church (Sunday only)\, Coultershaw Heritage Site and Beam Pump\, Burton Mill\, United Reformed Church\, The Sacred Heart Church and The Leconfield Hall. Tours in an open topped vintage bus will be available on Saturday to visit sites outside Petworth and group visits will take place to the Petworth Real Tennis Courts (not usually open to the general public). Guided walking tours and children’s activities will be on offer as well as tea\, coffee and homemade cakes. Join us for what we hope will be the best Petworth Heritage Weekend yet.
