SUMMARY:Summer Exhibition at Moncrieff Bray Gallery
DESCRIPTION:3 MAY – 15 JUNE 2024 \nFriday May 3 to  Saturday May 11\, Daily 10 am – 5 pm \nThereafter Wednesday to Saturday\,  10 am – 4 pm \nSUMMER OPENING PARTY SAT 4 MAY 3.30 – 6.30 \n30 artists and sculptors\, selected from Land’s End to Ullapool \nArtists and sculptors drawn from all corners of the British Isles exhibit in a stunning Sussex Barn and landscaped gardens. The work is selected with a commitment to quality\, integrity and originality from established and emerging artists alike. This is a wonderful opportunity to see a range of outstanding contemporary British sculpture in the heart of the South Downs National Park. There are small-scale intimate works for interiors as well as large pieces for the garden. Established 20 years ago\, the Summer Exhibition has become a highlight in the West Sussex art calendar. \nDominating the landscape are large scale abstract pieces in bronze by Lucy Lutyens together with Benji Lowsley-Williams’s  majestic pieces carved from his native Purbeck Marble.  Adam Binder’s delicate bronze animals and birds grace the interior space and Miranda Michels returns with her superbly observed animals in welded steel.  New sculptors include emerging abstract artists\, Mark Bowman and Archie Browning and Tobias Ford with his stunning flying birds. The exhibition also showcases some of the country’s leading stone carvers including Paul Vanstone\, Mel Fraser and Jonathan Loxley. \nWe are thrilled to be including a selection of paintings by Deborah Gourlay from her time as artist-in-residence at Glyndebourne Opera. Another highlight is a sweeping  two metre landscape by John Hitchens painted  from the top of nearby Duncton Hill in 1972.  New exhibitors include Catriona Millar with her naive\, evocative figurative portraits\, Gabriel Langlands elegaic vistas and Laura Cramer’s gestural abstract landscapes. While returning gallery favourites include Oona Campbell\, Lucy Powell\, Sam Rudd and Sarah Bowman. \nThis is an exhibition which celebrates many of the finest aspects of contemporary British art\, which combined with its spectacular rural setting\, only five minutes from the antique and artistic hub of Petworth\, make it a unique destination. A gallery of West End quality in the heart of rural Sussex

SUMMARY:Summer Exhibition: Painting and Sculpture at Moncrieff Bray Gallery
DESCRIPTION:6 MAY – 13 AUGUST 2022 \nWe have extended the Summer Exhibition until the 13th August and the gallery is open every Friday and Saturday until then. Our opening times are 10-4pm and at other times by appointment.  \n50 artists and sculptors selected from Land’s End to Ullapool.  \nNew work by some of our best-loved artists are shown alongside exciting new talents throughout the gallery and blossoming landscaped gardens. \nThe Moncrieff-Bray Gallery presents its Summer Exhibition which takes place in our converted barn and landscaped gardens with stunning views over the Rother Valley. Over 50 artists and sculptors are drawn from all corners of the British Isles. The work is selected with a commitment to quality\, integrity and originality from established and emerging artists alike. Sculpture ranges from small-scale intimate works for interiors to stunning large pieces for the garden. Established 17 years ago\, the Summer Exhibition has become a highlight in the West Sussex art calendar. \nNew work by some of our best-loved artists such as John Hitchens\, Jilly Sutton and Oona Campbell\, are shown alongside exciting new talent\, including Michael Chaikin’s giant articulated fish which ‘swim’  in the wind\, and Jeremy Moulsdale’s lyrical figures. \nWe are proud to show work by many leading British contemporary stone carvers\, among them: Jonathan Loxley\, Paul Vanstone\, Dominic Welch\, Guy Stevens\, Aly Brown and Tim Pomeroy. Complementing these pieces are Mike Savage’s organic pod forms in beaten copper\, Jilly Sutton’s striking carved wooden heads\, and kinetic works by Will Carr and Michael Chaikin. \nWithin the gallery\, vibrant work by Scottish Colourists Jean B Martin and Ann Oram are complimented by sweeping landscapes of the South Downs by Rosie Copeland and Lucy Marks. Gareth Edward’s elegiac abstract landscape is contrasted with the dynamic abstraction of Spencer Shakespeare and Malcom Taylor. \nThis is an exhibition which celebrates many of the finest aspects of contemporary British art. This\, combined with its spectacular rural setting\, only five minutes from the antique and artistic hub of Petworth\, make it a unique destination.

SUMMARY:Ukraine - Helping Refugees
DESCRIPTION:13 APRIL 2022 \n7.00pm – 9.00pm \n\n\n\nAre you like us?\nWant to help with the Ukrainian Refugee Crisis but not sure how? \nCome and join us to find out more. \nWednesday 13th April at Tillington Village Hall at 7pm \nA group of us at All Hallows really want to respond to the huge needs arising out of the appalling war in Ukraine. Some have offered space in their homes\, but most of us can’t. \nThe needs of these traumatised people will require a whole community response. A group of caring\, committed and resourceful people will be essential to meet the needs of any refugees that may come to this area. \nTo that end\, we wanted to meet up\, to discover who might want to be involved\, what skills and experience there might be among us\, what we might be able to do together. \nWe have\, as yet\, no idea if Tillington will be judged a suitable place for refugee families\, as Phase 2 of the Government’s plans to welcome refugees hasn’t begun. \nThere are plenty of resources out there to train and inform Community Support groups\, and the Sanctuary Foundation is a good website to explore. www.sanctuaryfoundation.org.uk \n\n\nPlease come along and let’s see together what we might need to do if we want to play our part. We are all on a learning curve!\nWednesday 13 th April 7pm at Tillington Village Hall
