The famous National Trust property in the picturesque market town of Petworth has proved an ideal venue\, attracting thousands of eager visitors. In its spacious marquee\, the Petworth Park Antiques & Fine Art Fair has over 60 exhibitors\, predominantly members of The British Antique Dealers’ Association and LAPADA The Association of Art & Antiques Dealers. They offer for sale a wide range of desirable items from period to modern furniture\, jewellery\, sculpture\, glass\, lighting\, vintage watches and silver to paintings\, drawings\, ceramics\, clocks\, 20th century design objects\, maps\, prints\, enamels\, objects of vertu\, aeronautica and many other decorative and unique works of art spanning the centuries. \nWe are very happy to again work with The National Trust at Petworth House as well as with the local dealer association PAADA and the Petworth Business Association\, creating yet another exciting event. The grand 17th century house boasts an internationally important art collection\, and together with its ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped country park\, it provides a magnificent backdrop for our annual fair. \nThe fair has its own free car park by the marquee – access is from the A272 Tillington Road through the gate at New Lodges. The AA signs will direct traffic to this entrance and not to the main car park on the A283\, where there is a charge of £4 for non-National Trust members. Disabled parking close to the fair entrance. The pedestrian entrance is via the Cricket Lodge gate\, also on the A272\, or via the Cowyard. \nFair visitors enjoy free access to Petworth House during the three day event. National Trust members and Petworth House ticket holders may attend the antiques fair free of charge. \nLight refreshments are available in the restaurant inside the fair\, operated by The Naked Food Company. \nDogs that can be carried and guide/assistance dogs are welcome.

DESCRIPTION:12 JUNE 2024 \n7.30pm – 10.30pm \nThe Currys have been staking their claim within the indie music scene since 2013\, when vocalist/guitarist Tommy Curry quit his teaching job and moved to Charlottesville\, Virginia\, to join the harmony-based folk-rock outfit newly formed by brother Jimmy Curry (vocals\, guitar) and cousin Galen Curry (vocals\, bass). The band have since written and released three full-length albums: their studio debut Follow (2014)\, called “eye-opening\, but warmly familiar” by Earmilk\, and whose title track is “one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard” (Todd Moe of NCPR); sophomore effort West of Here (2016)\, with its “tight-as-a-rubber-band” harmonies and “infectious” songwriting (PopMatters); and the expansive\, self-produced This Side of the Glass (2019). \nDuring the pandemic\, The Currys took the opportunity to explore different avenues of creativity. In 2020 the trio launched a podcast\, This Side of the Mic\, to showcase songs and share some laughs and insights. The band leveraged their down-time into writing and demoing dozens of new tracks\, polishing their production chops and collaborating with fellow creators to expand their sound. The singles they released through 2021\, such as pop/R&B track “Man On the Side” and Graceland-inspired “Last Night\,” pushed the boundaries of their previous catalog. \nIn March of 2023 the three Currys were joined by Sebastian Green (drums)\, Sam Whedon (guitar)\, and Alex Rees (keys) to begin production on their fourth studio album. Keepers\, released in October 2023\, represents another step in the band’s evolution\, pairing the lush\, three-part harmony that marks any Currys project with a more guitar-driven\, indie pop aesthetic. The album pays homage to the band’s influences\, with tracks evoking Sgt. Pepper’s\, Jason Isbell\, even dreamy pop-punk. Keepers is an honest next step for a group with an appetite for exploration and a long road ahead.
