Forest Gallery

Established in 1980, Forest Gallery enjoys an excellent reputation as one of the best galleries in the South-East.

Specialising in original paintings in both traditional and contemporary styles, Forest Gallery aims to find a wide variety of artwork from the UK and abroad. Originally situated in Dorking before establishing itself in Guildford for almost 30 years, the gallery is now located in the picturesque town of Petworth, West Sussex on the famous Lombard Street.

 

Kevis House Gallery

Kevis House Gallery presents a changing programme of art exhibitions, focusing on works on paper: drawings, watercolours, photographs and original prints.

Kevis House Gallery is on the ground floor of the building that housed the studio of Victorian photographer Walter Kevis from 1877 – 1908. It is located in Petworth’s famous cobbled Lombard Street, 2 minutes walk from Petworth House, at the Market Square end of Lombard Street, opposite The Hungry Guest Café.

Moncrieff-Bray Gallery

Moncrieff-Bray Gallery and Sculpture Garden is a commercial art space in Petworth specialising in contemporary art and sculpture by established and emerging artists.

The spectacular premises is a 120 metre converted Sussex barn set in a landscaped sculpture garden just outside the town centre, where high quality but accessible art will engage visitors and encourage them to develop an interest in art and sculpture. Due to the scale of the gallery, visitors can be assured of a wide range of work to view at any one time and they hold three to four major exhibitions a year.

The Coultershaw Trust

Coultershaw is an important part of Petworth’s history. The Trust operates and maintains the Coultershaw Heritage Site located on the A 285 1 1/2 miles south of Petworth The former corn mill site is open to the public on the 1st and 3rd Sundays and Bank Holidays from April to September.

Coultershaw is on the routes of the Rother Navigation, the Petworth to Chichester Turnpike and the Pulborough to Petworth Railway.

In 1782 a waterwheel driven Beam Pump was installed alongside the mill to supply water to Petworth. In 2012 a 15kW Archimedes Screw water turbine was installed in the wheel pit of the old corn mill.New displays included an exhibition of George Garland photographs.

The Directors David Todd and Amanda-Grace Pope have extensive experience in art sponsorship, artist support and curation.  They are joined by George Blacklock ex Dean of Chelsea & Wimbledon Colleges of Art, as Special Advisor, and Mara Alves as Head of Projects and Senior Curator.

The gallery will focus on highly contemporary work from emerging and mid career artists.
