DESCRIPTION:9.00am – 11.30am \nFamily Support Practitioner working for Family Support Work – who are a registered charity that support vulnerable children and families throughout Sussex. Excitingly\, Family Support Work have now extended their service and have an active practitioner in the Petworth\, Midhurst and surrounding areas. \nFamily Support Practitioners are qualified professionals who work in their local areas with families referred to them. Family Support practitioners spend time getting to know their families before helping them to develop coping mechanisms\, working at their own pace to resolve their issues and improve their wellbeing and life chances. We offer support in a variety of ways: \n\n\n 	Home visits\n 	One-to-one support meetings\n 	Individual playwork\n 	Support groups and drop-ins\n 	Family activity sessions\n 	Signposting to other agencies\n 	Partnership/multi-agency working with other professional bodies.\n\nWe receive referrals from a number of Schools and education professionals\, Health and social care professionals\, Family Centres\, Churches\, Other voluntary organisations and self-referrals. \nThis is a drop in for families (with a child 0 – 16 years) \nThe idea is a place to meet for tea/coffee and chat with other families. I have invited other charities to attend on different weeks these include  Mind\, \nHomestart\, social prescriber\, family practitioner to come along to offer advice and support\, if required. Feedback back will be collected after 5 weeks and reviewed in terms of a facilitating a longer term group.
