DESCRIPTION:16th – 23rd NOVEMBER \nMonday – Saturday – 10.00am – 5.00pm \nSunday – 10.00am – 3.00pm\nKodama in Japanese represents both tree spirits and echoes\, reflecting her love of\, and respect for\, local woods. This thought-provoking exhibition will be Hiroko’s first UK solo show and is not to be missed! \nThe Hiroko Lewis exhibition will include over 25 original works presented in our gallery space in Petworth\, West Sussex and online. All artworks will be available to purchase from the opening of the exhibition on 16 November (both online and in the gallery). There will be an opportunity to meet Hiroko on Saturday 18th November – sign up for updates. \nHiroko Lewis is a Japanese artist based in Sussex who creates abstract mindscapes in mixed media. After graduating with a Fine Art degree from Kanazawa College of Art\, she pursued a career as artist\, porcelain pattern designer\, and illustrator in Japan\, where she exhibited widely\, including at the prestigious National Art Centre in Tokyo. \nOver the past decade\, Hiroko has honed her skills in the art of metal leafing and patination; using a combination of these\, alongside oil paints\, she is able to create unique artworks that change according to the light.

Following on from Harry’s successful solo exhibition last year with Forest Gallery\, the artist is back with an evermore impressive collection of powerful landscapes and coastal paintings ready to adorn your walls. \nJoining Harry this year we have the privilege of showcasing the wonderful oil paintings of Mario Malfer. At age 81 Mario has spent a lifetime honing his unique tapestry style focused on northern Italy’s romantic landscape and the collection the artist has painted for this show is not one to miss! \nThe exhibition will run from Friday 18th November for a special Preview Evening (get in touch for tickets) until Saturday 26th November and will be available to view in Forest Gallery\, Petworth and online.
