This is suitable for beginner’s wanting to develop their photographic journey. Bridge and Dslr cameras welcome.\nTechnical support will be given throughout the day\, so a great opportunity to pick up some great tips and “how to” demonstrations\, such as off centre focusing\, creative use of depth of field\, black and white photography\, exposure control and much more.

You will learn different creative approaches to landscape photography from the grand sweeping vista to the intimate details that can evoke grand themes and emotions. \nLearn how the camera sees\, and how this can be creatively used to make stunning images\, whether that’s creative use of depth of field or dynamic compositional techniques to add drama to your pictures. \nLearn different approaches to landscape photography\, it is NOT always about the view! We will look at some creative techniques such as Intentional Camera Movement to make images with an almost painterly feel. \nLearn what images would work best in black and white or colour and why? \nThere is a 30 minute lunch break included in the session\, so please bring your own lunch and refreshments. \nPlease note that this event will run outside\, within the stunning grounds of Petworth Park. DESCRIPTION:3 JULY – 19 SEPTEMBER  2021 \n10.30am – 5.00pm \n\nSussex artist Lucy Marks is following in J.M.W. Turner’s footsteps for her solo exhibition Dawn to Dusk at Petworth House. Saturday 3 July – Sunday 19 September 2021\, 10:30am-4:30pm.\nThis summer you can discover 55 paintings in oil and watercolour that were inspired by the Deer Park at Petworth\, by award-winning painter Lucy Marks. She has spent six months painting the 700-acres of countryside that makes up the ‘Capability’ Brown parkland\, with the theme behind her work inspired by famous landscape painter J.M.W. Turner. Paintings are available to buy.\nDawn to Dusk is open in the Servants’ Quarters at Petworth House and Park from Saturday 3 July – Sunday 19 September 2021\, 10:30am-4:30pm. Visitors are required to purchase a ticket to the site to enter\, free for National Trust members.
