This exhibition marks the 20th anniversary of Chris Orr’s first visit to Japan. He has returned regularly since 2004, to a country where “Spiritual feelings are tied up with the visual order”.
Included in the exhibition will be original watercolours and drawings from Orr’s latest trip in the spring of this year, and a first showing of his new lithograph The Red Roofs of Shimoda, which will be hung in this year’s Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
Chris Orr will be present at the private views on 10 and 11 May, and will speak briefly about the pictures in the exhibition and his experiences in Japan.
