Petworth Antiques & Decorative Arts

The Petworth Antique & Decorative Arts Association was founded in the early 1980s to promote the town and the professionalism of its antique dealers.

Some thirty years later, there are currently thirty seven members in the Association, all subscribing to its own Code of Practice.

Known as “The Antiques Centre of the South”, Petworth is nationally and internationally recognised as a major hub for antiques and the arts.

Set in this ancient and beautiful English market town in the heart of the South Downs National Park, Petworth offers a wide variety of shops within walking distance of each other, all just outside the gates of the National Trust’s Petworth House.

Whether you are moving, refurbishing, renovating or just looking for that much sought-after special piece – be it fine traditional, vintage, or contemporary modern – there is a very good chance you will find it in Petworth.

As Petworth changes and evolves, we have been fortunate to retain our long established quality dealers, members of the London and Provincial Antique Dealers Association (LAPADA) or the British Antique Dealers Association (BADA).

At the same time we also have a number of ‘Young Guns’: cutting edge, fashion conscious dealers selling mid-century, modern and bespoke designer furnishings.
